Teacher: Mrs Petersen / Mrs Jolliffe
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Ogborne
Student Teacher (PGCE Exeter University): Immogen Floyd
Welcome to Littlemoor class!

Littlemoor class has 15 children, Early Years Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2. Our Spring term is an exciting mix of outdoor learning, trips and visitors, creative curriculum and, of course, lots of fun and engaging learning! Forest school sessions are to continue for each child and there will be plenty of opportunity to learn outdoors and get messy. Littlemoor are set to enjoy an enriching class trip to Madewell Farm to help our understanding of animals and the environment as well as a class treat to Clip and Climb in Exeter. Preparation for statutory assessments in Year 2 is high on the agenda to ensure that pupils are prepared for KS2. The core subjects of Mathematics and English are taught in the morning with extra guided reading sessions in the afternoon. The children in Littlemoor have roles and responsibilities in the class showing respect for the environment we live in. In Littlemoor, we enjoy emergent learning through play, exploring and investigating everything we find interesting. Our Pre-school is very much an addition to the classroom and the children are integrating into school life well. We have welcomed new additions to our pre-school and are proud to be able to provide an excellent start to their education.
Please see our curriculum overview for more details on our learning areas.

Teacher:  Mrs Gardner
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Simmons

Our Spring Term is packed with challenging, fun and engaging activities that look to stimulate learning in the safe environment of Boasley Cross Primary School.  We are very lucky to be joined by a Student from Exeter University (PGCE) and we are all really excited about our topic this term about the Ancient Egyptians.  We will be enhancing our learning on this topic with a visit to the RAMM in Exeter in early April. Our Forest school sessions are to continue for each child and there will be plenty of occasions for more learning opportunities outdoors as the weather improves.  Our physical education activities will include netball and tennis when the weather is good; gymnastics when we need to retreat indoors.
Our maths will include multiplication, division and fractions and our English writing will focus on both fiction and non-fiction texts.

Please see our curriculum overview for more detail on our learning areas.

Teacher: Mr Paine
Teaching Assistants: Mrs Lethbridge / Miss Furneaux / Mrs Davies

Welcome to Bodmin class, home of the year 5 and 6 children. Here in the top end of KS2 we have 26 children. The class teacher in Bodmin is Mr Paine, supported by the wonderful Mrs Lethbridge, Mrs Davies and Miss Furneaux. We have an extremely fun and engaging curriculum planned for this spring term during which children will be stretched and appropriately challenged. We have an exciting trip planned to Exeter RAMM; this fits nicely with our topic for the term, Ancient Egypt. Children will have the opportunity to take part in workshops as well as explore the museum. SATS preparation will be high on the agenda this term, this is to best prepare them for the upcoming assessments in May. Children in KS2 will be expected to fulfill the roles and responsibilities of year 5 and 6 children, this added responsibility is an important way of growing into life after Boasley Cross.
Please see curriculum overview for further details on the children’s learning.
Best wishes, Mr P.
