At Boasley Cross, we welcome children from the age of 3 to 11 years old. Our curriculum is planned completely through play and pupils’ natural development. The child is respected, and we encourage their sense of curiosity, allowing them to succeed long-term.
We work within the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. You can read more about the framework here.
Parental involvement is invited and encouraged. We offer a welcoming environment where the outside and inside environments merge, whilst offering opportunity for children to choose their own learning and enquiries through play.
Our guiding principles:
At Littlemoor Pre-School, we believe that children are constructors of their own learning, with adult expertise and knowledge children can thrive. Children can find meaning and joy through all types of play. Each child has their own language, their own path towards learning and therefore each child’s unique path becomes our focus. They also enjoy the added benefit of sharing learning experiences with children in Reception and KS1.
Please telephone Boasley Cross on 01837 871362 to arrange a visit and see our pre-school setting for yourself.

Our guiding principles:
- Image of the child – Adults are aware of each child’s potential and it’s their responsibility to help support and guide children throughout the journey of learning.
- Emergent curriculum – Through careful observation of the classroom, teachers can introduce learning explorations and provocations and develop long-term projects. The curriculum emerges from the children, allowing the learning process to become a spiralling progression.
- Role of the environment – classrooms are open, inviting spaces filled with a range of resources, real life materials, windows, and natural lighting. Learning spaces are designed to promote a sense of wonder, inquiry, and human connection.
- Parental involvement – learning takes place not only in school but at home and in the community. Parents are encouraged to participate in their child’s education and daily life at school and to extend and reinforce learning opportunities at home.
