School Meals
School meals are available daily and are cooked in the kitchen at St James CofE Primary School, Okehampton. The menu choices are varied and include vegetarian, baked potato and sandwich options. Children in EYFS and KS1 are automatically eligible for Universal Free School Meals.
Your child may be eligible for free school meals, regardless of age, if you receive any of the following:
- Universal Credit: All households receiving Universal Credit are eligible, with no additional earned income limit starting in September 2026.
- Other Qualifying Benefits: Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, the guarantee element of State Pension Credit, or support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.
- Tax Credits: Child Tax Credit (with an annual gross income of no more than £16,190 and no Working Tax Credit) also qualifies.
